Washington Debate Coalition Spring Fling

Hello everyone!

The Washington Debate Coalition is hosting their first annual Spring Fling, May 14-15th. This is a fun tournament for debate alumni, coaches, college debaters, parents of debaters, etc. Each team raises pledges to compete in debates about next year's topic and current events. My mother and I have formed a team, with my brother as our judge (all of us former debaters). Rumor has it that Mr. Gunsolus and Mitsu will be pairing up, as well as certain Janyk spawn...

The WDC supports the activity in debate in Washington. They are a great resource for struggling teams (including ours), and even started programs at two schools this year. They hosted a $10 2-day workshop for our students this past September, which helped two of our members win second place at Whitman. WDC also hosted a round-robin invitational to award scholarship prizes, which two of our students attended. For the upcoming year, WDC will be putting on monthly workshops, from which every debater can benefit.

So because of all the great stuff WDC does, please support us in supporting them! You can make donations on their page, and you can even stipulate which team you want your pledges to go to (ahem...I hope you make the right choice!) just notifying you that our tournament will happen thurs-sat, nov 4-6, 2010.

I hope to have the invitation posted by late may--I'll email you when it goes up.
