Fundraising on Tuesday

Hello readers,

Please be prepared on Tuesday to send out e-letters to request donations. We're getting into the holiday season quickly and it's the perfect time to ask for someone to sponsor you. Last year our biggest fundraiser was simply writing letters to family and friends to solicit donations. We hope it will be an even bigger success this year due to our financial need.

As we discussed in practice, Squalicum is currently out of funds to attend tournaments. BHS will also be short after Auburn. The flash disk card sales were disappointing, as it seems not many students participated. This means it is all the more important to send out the e-letters. Students who do not participate will not be able to attend tournaments, since these tournaments are of great cost to us. To put it in perspective, Whitman cost about $1,230. Auburn will cost around $700. Our first fundraiser of the year, the garage sale, netted $700.

On Wednesday this week I mentioned that you will need to identify 10 people that you can ask for donations. We will be using FundBunch, an online tool that allows people to donate online. People are also welcome to donate cash/checks if they are uncomfortable using the secured pay site. Please bring email addresses of people, since we will be creating a page for each student. You will then email family/friends to have them view your page and donate. We will go through each step together.

Thank you and please remember those addresses!

P.S. Tuesday's practice will be held in Sehome's library since they are using the lab for testing.
